To our Dedicated Friends and Supporters
As we close the first term at Sacred Heart College, we reflect on a season marked by growth, challenges, and the unwavering spirit of our community. Thanks to your generosity, we've achieved milestones that uplift both our students and staff, even amid constraints.
This term, our students grew through unforgettable experiences. Grades 4 to 7 embarked on a three-day camp at Sedibe Kwele in the bushveld, where they explored nature, built resilience, and forged friendships. Another highlight was a theatre trip, igniting creativity and broadening horizons for our younger children. These moments remind us why your support matters; they transform ordinary days into experiences that will be remembered forever.
Operating on a limited budget requires creativity, and our team has risen to the occasion. Despite financial challenges, we sustained vital programmes like swimming, judo, and other extracurricular activities. Our kitchen staff provided nutritious meals daily, and the health screening monitored student well-being - a testament to our commitment to holistic care.
Next term brings change. Sacred Heart Primary School, currently in our preschool building, will return to its original space. To accommodate space limitations, Grades 1 to 4 will attend morning sessions, while Grades 5–6 will shift to afternoons. Though this adjustment may disappoint older students, rest assured: we remain focused on delivering a full curriculum to prepare every child for public school transitions.
Not all hurdles are behind us. This term, we addressed some social issues related to vaping among Grade 6 students and ongoing struggles with academic focus with others. While reports show many thriving, some of our children do need tailored support. We continue to urge families to consider specialist schools for the small number of children with unique special needs and ask all parents to reinforce learning at home.
Gratitude and hope None of our work is possible without you. Your support ignites our resilience and enables us to turn obstacles into opportunities. Together, we continue to nurture a future where every child can flourish.
